Friday, March 28
Saturday, March 29 and
Sunday, March 30, 2008
The Junior Baroque Music Festival is an annual celebration of the music of Baroque composers in the time of Bach, Vivaldi and Handel, performed by youth under 19 from inside and outside Pennsylvania.
The 2008 Festival invites instrumental and vocal musicians for a weekend of workshops exploring the Baroque, masterclasses on their own baroque repertoire, and a competition for concerti for horn, bassoon and cello. Workshops and masterclasses, led by early music specialists and master teachers, are for both beginning and advanced levels. The Best of Baroque final concert on Sunday afternoon features performers selected during the festival--soloists, concerti solos and ensemble players on masterworks from the Italian Baroque.
